Primary School Visits
£9.50 per child
Give pupils the chance to discover some of the subjects they learn about at school in a living, breathing environment.
Primary groups can explore Newquay Zoo independently, with plenty of opportunities throughout the day to observe animals, compare species and discover more about the natural world.
When booking, you'll be able to select the Key Stage appropriate for your group and choose whether you'd like to add one of our educational experiences.
Educational School Workshop Add-On
A structured educational session led by a member of our Education and Engagement team. Workshops offer an opportunity to explore a topic in greater depth and add a dedicated learning experience to your day at the zoo.
20-minute Mini Session Add-On
For groups looking for a shorter option, our Mini Sessions take place at an animal enclosure and provide a focused introduction to one of the animals or themes encountered during your visit.
Educational workshops and Mini Sessions are available Monday–Thursday, subject to availability.
Please note that Walk and Talk sessions are not available for primary-aged pupils.

Getting here and parking
School groups can arrive at Newquay Zoo between 10am and 2pm, giving you flexibility to organise your visit around transport arrangements and the school day.
Newquay Zoo is located in the heart of Newquay, making it a great destination for school groups from across Cornwall.
Please be aware that the car park beside Newquay Zoo is owned and operated by Cornwall Council and parking charges apply. Parking is therefore not included with your school visit.
We recommend checking current parking arrangements before travelling and allowing plenty of time for your group to arrive before any pre-booked educational sessions.

Why bring your class to Newquay Zoo?
Learning about wildlife is very different when pupils can see animals for themselves.
A day at Newquay Zoo can encourage children and young people to observe behaviours, identify adaptations, compare species and think more deeply about habitats, biodiversity and conservation.
It is also an opportunity to encourage curiosity. From noticing how an animal moves to questioning why a species looks or behaves in a particular way, a zoo visit can provide starting points for learning that continue long after the school trip is over.
