About the Chapman's zebra

A subspecies of the plains zebra, Chapman's zebras are native to savannah habitats across southern Africa.

They spend most of their day grazing on grass, but will occasionally eat berries and other plants to increase their protein intake.

Conservation

Chapman's zebra are classed as near threatened on the IUCN list due to habitat fragmentation and competition with livestock.

To help protect this species, protected areas have been created and population management projects are in place.
