Australian budgerigars can be found across many different habitats in Australia, including forests, savannahs, shrublands, grasslands, deserts and even urban areas. They are nomadic and travel in flocks.
Budgerigars mainly eat seeds, but they will also eat fruit, vegetables, and even insects, making them opportunistic feeders.
Australian budgerigars have no major threats, and are listed as Least Concern on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.
