Asian house gecko

The Asian house gecko, also known as the Flat-tailed gecko or Asian day gecko, is a small lizard native to south-eastern and southern Asia. They are grey-brown in colour, with mottled markings and can grow up to 8-10cm in length. You can find our Asian house geckos in our Tropical House.

About the Asian house gecko

Asian house geckos are noctural, and have a varied died of arthropods including spiders, ants and other insects. They lay eggs in pairs, which hatch after a short incubation period, and have a life expectancy of 5-7 years in the wild.

Conservation

Asian house geckos are labelled as least concern on the IUCN Red List, with no active conservation efforts required due to their widespread populations.
